A cult caravan. That's how it's called by enthusiasts: the Eriba Touring. And how does one become one? By dominating the road scene almost unchanged for more than 65 years. And on campsites, of course, because the Eriba Touring remains a striking appearance, with its round shapes. Starting with the 2024 model year, the Touring will be even more striking with the new "Color Editions".
The first Eriba Touring was built in 1957 by Erwin Hymer, under the name Eriba Troll. The popularity of the little caravan was the basis of what is now the Erwin Hymer Group, which includes such brands as Dethleffs, Bürstner and LMC. But it started with the small caravan, recognizable by its round shapes and the lifting roof. Together, these not only make for an iconic look but it also has another advantage: low air resistance, and you notice that in your wallet.
Under the skin, the Touring is distinguished from traditionally built caravans by a metal frame. Together with the aerodynamic exterior, this helps ensure stable handling behind the car. For the 2024 model year, there will be three "Color Editions" in three new colors: Nugget Gold, Tango Red and Harbour Blue. For true retro looks, the top is finished in white and the caravans have alloy wheels, a bumper in stainless steel and chrome details reminiscent of the sixties. On the inside, the new colors are subtly carried through with colored details in the upholstery.
More news at Eriba
In addition to the "Color Editions," there is more news at Eriba: the brand is coming out with two new, longer Touring models. First up is the Eriba Touring 630 (length 6.30 meters) which is characterized by a fixed double bed in the width of the caravan. Even slightly longer is model 642 (length 6.42 meters). It has a fixed double bed lengthwise, with a recessed v-shape at the foot end for easy entry.
Several Eriba Touring models will be on display during the Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs. There is already an Eriba Touring from around 26,540 euros.
